Engage People and FreedomPay Expand Use of Loyalty Points as Currency
Canadian loyalty network Engage People has partnered with commerce platform FreedomPay to bring PwP capabilities to physical retailer locations.
The collaboration will allow consumers to pay with points (PwP) for everyday purchases seamlessly through the FreedomPay platform, enabling frictionless transactions of any amount like any other currency.
Through a combination of Engage People’s APIs and FreedomPay’s loyalty and incentive engine, customers will have the ability to pay with points in-store, in real-time at a variety of retailers. As a result, Engage People will expand its access to additional retail partners across North America, strengthening its loyalty network, Access Plus.
Loyalty network officials said retailers now have the ability to offer an alternative payment option that meets growing consumer demand at a time when inflation is at its highest in years. They look forward to working with FreedomPay to continue to evolve loyalty points into a ubiquitous form of currency, such as cash or card payment, and to expand their network to include a broader roster of top-tier retailers.
At the same time, representatives of FreedomPay explained that consumers are constantly looking for alternative and diversified payment methods. Through their partnership, the retailers not only provide more convenience and flexibility to their customers, but also improve the everyday shopping experience. This can lead to repeat purchases and long-term customer retention.
