Prediction, kick off time, TV, live stream, team news, h2h results for World Cup Qualifiers
Portugal are one of the biggest nations still at risk of missing out on the 2022 World Cup and begin their qualifying campaign with a semi-final against Turkey.
The winners will face Italy or North Macedonia for a place in the Qatar tournament, which means that one of the last two European champions will certainly be absent.
Portugal are of course led by talismanic captain Cristiano Ronaldo, who will be desperate to lead his country in what would surely be the last World Cup of his career.
Turkey were much-loved dark horses at Euro 2020 last summer, but they were bombarded with a dismal group stage and will be keen to make amends.
Here’s everything you need to know…

Portugal vs Turkey Team News
Portugal’s backline is significantly weakened, with Ruben Dias (injured), Joao Cancelo (suspended) and Pepe (Covid) all missing, while in midfield Wolves’ in-form Ruben Neves has retired injured.
Turkey have no such suspension or injury problems, welcoming back Mert Mulder, who was banned during the last international break.
Standard Sports Prediction
Turkey were embarrassed at Euro 2020 after gaining a solid reputation and were beaten 6-1 by the Netherlands in September.
They are probably a better team than these results suggest, but Portugal should prove too strong and in all likelihood set up a critical clash with Italy.
Portugal won 3-1.
